New Year New Website

Welcome to the new website for Sussex Athletics. The aim is to make it a ‘one stop shop’ for anything to do with Athletics in the county. Our intention is that anyone from the absolute beginner to the experienced athlete will use the web site to find out about what is happening across the athletic landscape and see how they can get involved. The new site is also more interactive and is easily accessible on smart phones and tablets.

Gold for Connor and Silver for Ferroni at Bedford.

Sussex youngsters got amongst the medals in the England U15 and U17 Track and field championship at Bedford over the weekend with things coming good for Lewes pole vaulter Livvy Connor. After a year when she has shown great promised as an intermediate hurdler but seemed to be just a touch away from the top her form in her number one event although she did take the bronze medal in the English Schools U17 event. At Bedford however she was in great form equalling her personal best of 3.60m to take the gold medal.

Best Ever for Sussex at Inter-counties

Sussex had probably their best ever Inter-Counties result at Bedford over the weekend despite the absence of many of their top athletes. Most counties seemed to suffer, as did Sussex, with many leading athletes choosing to miss this fixture for various reasons. There were four gold medals for Sussex and the women finished a splendid third in Division one while the men were sixth. Scoring 56.5 points, Sussex finished behind the winners Yorkshire, who scored 73.5 points and second placed Essex who totalled 64 points.
