Gold and Silver in Denmark - - UPDATE - Mullett

Crawley’s David Beattie did a “Mo Farah” to strike gold in the European Master’s Track and Field Championships at Aarhus in Denmark.

The former winner of the London to Brighton Road Race in 1990 and oft times Sussex Masters Cross-country champion, who has been a leading Sussex runner in his age group since he attended Lewes Priory School, has really made his reputation as a Road Runner.

In Denmark however he tackled the M70 10,000m race and was quite happy to keep with the early gentle pace.

Mullett takes British Steeplechase title.

Lewes’s Rob Mullett made another step on the road to run for Great Britain at the World Championships in London next month when he dominated the 3000m steeplechase in the British Championships at Birmingham on Saturday.

Running well within himself he controlled the race striding clear to a convincing victory over Bracknell’s Zac Seddon in 8:41.43 some ten seconds outside his best time this season.
