Wins for Sussex Clubs and many promising performances as YDL 2018 kicks off

Bathed in glorious sunshine, the county's youngest athletes travelled across the South East for the opening round of this season’s Youth Development League (U13/U15). In the near perfect weather conditions both Brighton & Hove AC and Horsham Blue Stars were in winning form.

With a local match hosted by Lewes AC, Brighton led from start to finish and ended 135 points clear of second placed Medway & Maidstone, scoring 595 points to 459.5. Lewes came fourth with 426.5.

Junior Boys Win at Kingsmeadow

The Sussex Schools junior Boy’s team were brilliant in the South East Schools Combined Events championships at Kingsmeadow over the weekend.

With a series of fine performances Adam Lindo and Spike Gleave filled the first two places in the Pentathlon and with Seb Wallace and Tom Ridley placing eighth and ninth the Sussex team trounced Hampshire by nearly three hundred points for victory.

Brighton & Hove win YDL match. - - Crawley and Horsham UPDATE`

The Brighton & Hove Athletic Club romped to a run-a-way win in the second of this season’s Youth Development  League matches  at Withdean on Saturday.

Competing in the East One division of the Lower Age Group League the home club led the match virtually from the start to score 596 points and record their second win of the season.

After a great battle with the Medway & Maidstone club Lewes took second place with 486 points, just three points clear of the Kent Club while Basildon filled fourth, of the six competing clubs with 438 points.
