Best Results In Years For Sussex At English Schools

Sussex Youngsters battled the strong winds and heavy rain to come away with some brilliant results at the English Schools Cross-country Championships at Newsam Park in Leeds on Saturday.

Some of the highlights included four top twenty finishers, an overall bronze for all the boys’ teams, a senior boys team silver and the inter girls getting silver for the Best 8 Runners category.

Big Weekend For Sussex School Youngsters

This weekend will see our Sussex youngsters travel to Leeds for the English Schools Cross-country Championships.

School teams from 46 counties in England will gather at the Temple Newsam event, which is one of the biggest in the cross country calendar.

The six Sussex teams are made up of athletes selected from their performances in the county over the last few months.

BHASVIC Success at Knole - Sussex Schools

Tomer Tarragano warmed up for Wednesday’s Sussex Schools cross-country championships with a great victory at the prestigious Knole Run event at Sevenoaks for BHASVIC on Saturday.

Over 240 runners featuring some of the best x- country schools in the country raced over 5.8 miles of undulating parkland in the beautiful setting of Knole Park in Sevenoaks.

Tarragano led from start to finish to continue his recent excellent form and his winning time of 31:31 was nine seconds clear of the much fancied Edouand Long from Eton College.
