Junior Boys Win at Kingsmeadow

The Sussex Schools junior Boy’s team were brilliant in the South East Schools Combined Events championships at Kingsmeadow over the weekend.

With a series of fine performances Adam Lindo and Spike Gleave filled the first two places in the Pentathlon and with Seb Wallace and Tom Ridley placing eighth and ninth the Sussex team trounced Hampshire by nearly three hundred points for victory.

Fourth for Bethany and third for Year 8 Girls

Bethany Cook turned in another cracking run at the weekend when she donned the English schools vest for the International Schools Cross-country event at Margam Park, Port Talbot, Cardigan.

Probably the youngest runner in the junior (U15) girls race Cook was faced with her longest ever race at 4.2km and over the fast, tough course that included several sharp hills was not really suited to this light, long striding Moira House runner.

Young Athletes Provide their own Sunshine up K2

It may have been rather overcast and a slight chill in the wind but there was plenty of sunshine coming from the youngsters at the final of the Sussex under 13 League final at K2 on Sunday.

Just one League record tumbled during the afternoon, to make it four records during the season, and that was by the hosts Crawley who set a new clocking of 53.2s in the boys relay and that just put the icing on the top of a successful, but desperately close, defence of their league title.
