There was however a fine bronze medal in the Intermediate (U17) 5km walking championship which was held in conjunction.

Here Oliver Hopkins from Chailey continued to show improved form and again achieved a personal best to finish in third place in 27:28.65s.

Crawley go Nap in Under 15s

Both Crawley’s Katie Bristowe and Millie Noyce broke Sussex under 15 League records at the Final of this season’s League event at the K2 Leisure Centre on Friday evening.

Bristowe, who has already had a couple of bites at the Sussex record for the 75m hurdles this season.

Conditions were a bit gloomy and damp and not really suitable for breaking Sussex records but she was not far away from her best clocking 11.3s for the League while her County Records remained intact at 11.26s.
