Another Gold Medal for Richards

On a very good day for racing Ian Richards of Steyning, after his 3 Golds in Malaga, easily retained his Sussex Men’s 10,000m race walking title at Broadbridge Heath on Saturday, in 55:18.8s. Although in a slower time than last year, after receiving a couple of warnings early on in the race, he finished well clear of fellow 70 year old Paul Gaston (Surrey Walking Club) who clocked 67:59.1s.

It's Tough at the Top in British League

Both the Crawley and Brighton & Hove teams are holding their own in the current British League battles following Saturday’s matches at Yate and Stretford.

In a nail-bitingly close Division two match at Yate where just 25 points covered the first six teams the Crawley squad finished fifth with 280 points just eighteen points behind the winning Newquay and Par team’s 298 points. Kent A.C scored 295, Bournemouth 290, Kingston & Poly 288 with Crawley scoring 280 and Herne Hill 273.
