More Under 15 Records - Euro U23 Champs

The Sussex Under 15 athletes are determined to rewrite the Sussex U15 League records this season and the had another bite last Wednesday.

In June six tumbled in both the East and West match and at Wednesday’s East Division match at Lewes another three fell by the wayside.

In almost perfect conditions newly crowned English Schools Junior javelin champion Lizzie Korczak broke the League record again having broken it in June and then lost it a couple of days later to Horsham’s Peanut Meekings.

Records Broken in Wind at Crawley

A strong blustery wind at Crawley dampened the record breaking, and most track times, at the 84th Sussex Schools Track and Field championships on Saturday.

The strong south westerly, which eddied around the finish area played havoc with not only the sprints and straight hurdles but also the pole vault and high jump which are situated at that end of the track.

Despite the conditions five Championship Best Performances were broken, three in the field events and two on the track..
